A sample DOP question

One question written for this page, in the same style as the questions in the bank.

SDLC Automation

A team deploys a containerised service with AWS CodePipeline to Amazon ECS. A recent release passed every test but raised the error rate in production. The team needs new releases to roll back automatically when the error rate rises, without a person watching the deployment. Which approach meets the requirement?

  • AAdd a manual approval action to the pipeline before the production deploy.
  • BDeploy with AWS CodeDeploy blue/green and associate a CloudWatch alarm on the error-rate metric with the deployment group.Correct answer
  • CIncrease the ECS service's minimum healthy percent so the old tasks stay running longer.
  • DSchedule a Lambda function to compare error rates hourly and redeploy the previous task definition.

About the DOP exam

How many questions are on the DOP exam?

75 questions in 180 minutes. Only 65 of them affect your score; the other 10 are unscored questions AWS uses to trial new items, and you cannot tell which is which. ReadyForCert papers use the same 75-question, 180-minute format.

What score do I need to pass DOP?

AWS reports a scaled score from 100 to 1,000 and the minimum passing score is 750. The scale is not a straight percentage of questions answered correctly, but it is a higher bar than the Associate exams, which pass at 720.

Is DOP harder than the Associate exams?

It is broader and the scenarios are longer. The exam assumes you have built and operated the pipelines rather than only read about them, and it passes at 750 rather than 720.

Are these the real DOP exam questions?

No. These are practice questions written against the published exam guide. Real exam content is under NDA and AWS rotates its bank, so memorising a leaked dump is the fastest way to fail a refreshed exam. This bank is tagged to an earlier version of the exam guide than the current one.
